If you have a toothache or a sensitive spot on your tooth, you might have a cavity. Cavities can sometimes be visible as tiny holes or staining. Other times, you might not even know you have a cavity yet. That’s why you should always come in for a regular cleaning and checkup to catch decay early on.
When you have tooth decay, that has led to a cavity, a dental filling is necessary. If left untreated, it could ultimately lead to further damage. We can prevent that from happening by removing the decay and replacing the removed area with a dental filling.
When you come in for a dental filling, Dr. Witt will use a local anesthetic to numb the surrounding area. He will then remove any part of the tooth that has decayed. After double checking to make sure it has all been removed, it will be cleaned and filled. Unlike in the past, your filling will be able to match the color of your tooth. So, no one should be able to recognize you got a filling!
