Crowns & Bridges

Book An appointment

Crowns and bridges are great substitutes for your natural teeth if they are damaged or missing. If you have missing teeth, it is important to look at your restoration options so you can go back to chewing your food normally.

What are Crowns and Bridges?

Crowns are permanently bonded to your teeth or dental implants. They are often used to cap teeth that become cracked or damaged, and they are meant to blend in completely with your natural smile. Crowns are also used to cap root canals. We offer same-day crowns, so you won’t have to wait!

The function of a bridge is hinted at in its name. They bridge the gap left open by a missing tooth. A false tooth will be placed between two existing teeth with crowns and will be bonded to them. This is a common alternative to a dental implant.

What Happens During the Procedure?

With both dental crowns and bridges, an impression of your teeth will be made so we know how to match everything during your treatment. During a crown procedure, Dr. Witt will shape the tooth to create a base for the crown. The crown will then be placed on top of your natural tooth. Since we offer same-day crowns, you’ll be able to get them in just one simple visit!

If you need a bridge, crowns will be placed on your existing teeth surrounding the missing tooth. The impression you had will be used to create the bridge, which will be permanently bonded to the crowns. If your bite needs adjusting, you’ll come back so we can make sure it’s both comfortable and properly functional.

What are the Benefits of Crowns and Bridges?

The obvious advantage of getting a dental crown and bridge is that you’ll once again have a functional and appealing smile. Here are some other benefits:

  • They won’t stain

  • They look natural

  • Prevent bone loss

  • Prevent teeth from shifting

  • Crowns protect your teeth

My Botox results are great! I was surprised I didn’t need more units but I’ve heard that more experienced Doctors can get the same results with less.
